Sports can be viewed as a “great equalizer,” in that they can bring together people and communities in a way that sometimes cannot be achieved in traditional diplomacy. In this session, Marty Conway, professor of Global Business of Sport at Georgetown University, and Trina Bolton, Program Officer in the U.S. Department of State’s Sports Diplomacy Division of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, discuss the ways in which sport can be used as a tool for engaging in meaningful diplomacy and relationship building. Moderated by Dylan Adelman, Assistant Director, AJC API.
