Women in Diplomacy

AJC New York held our inaugural Women in Diplomacy luncheon at Congregation Rodeph Sholom—a special culmination of Women's History Month and celebration of the important work of our female diplomatic partners.

Over 120 AJC leaders and diplomats joined us for an engaging discussion with H.E. Ambassador Paula Narváez Ojeda, H.E. Ambassador Lisa Carty, and Deputy Consul General Hannah Young about their experiences as women in diplomacy, their remarkable and unique careers in the foreign service, and multilateral initiatives to empower women and achieve gender equity.

We are proud to dedicate our inaugural Women in Diplomacy luncheon to the outstanding female diplomats who continue to elevate the field of foreign service, redefine what it means to be a woman in diplomacy, and advocate with determination and insight to make our world a more equitable, safe, and just place. AJC New York extends our immense gratitude to our panelists and diplomatic partners who continue to elevate the field of foreign service and redefine what it means to be a woman in diplomacy. As Women’s History Month comes to a close this year, we are grateful to our esteemed guests who serve as an inspiration to us all and exemplify the promising future of the diplomatic corps.

We thank our AJC leaders and trusted diplomatic partners for joining in this special luncheon and for continuing to believe in and act upon AJC’s critical mission of supporting the global Jewish community.

We are especially grateful to our dedicated Event Chairs (Leslie Chatzinoff, Robin Dracos, and Marjorie Kuhn) and Event Committee (Ruth Goodstein, Rhonda Kirschner, and Amy Legow) for their leadership and support in planning this meaningful luncheon, as well as Candy Gould for sharing with us her wisdom and talent in moderating the panel discussion.
