Founded in 2021, AJC Abu Dhabi: The Sidney Lerner Center for Arab-Jewish Understanding works to strengthen ties between Israel and Arab nations, build relations among Arabs and Jews, and celebrate and enrich Jewish life across the Middle East.
American Jewish Committee’s Center for a New Middle East utilizes AJC’s unparalleled global advocacy network to foster deeper diplomatic, economic, and civic ties between Israel and its Arab neighbors. It builds upon AJC’s historic success in cultivating trust and opening doors to all levels of government across the Arab world.
For the first time, American Jews and Israelis have a chance to develop a relationship between Jewish grown-ups. We need to recognize each other’s achievements, and understand, if not indulge, each other’s failures (which are often a consequence of geographic circumstance).
There has yet to be serious conversation, let alone effective action, on the issue of religious pluralism in Israel, one of the core issues that may determine the future of relations between Jews in Israel and in the United States.
