On March 15, Cincinnati City Council voted unanimously to adopt the internationally recognized IHRA Definition of Antisemitism which serves as an educational tool that helps users identify and address antisemitism in all its forms. AJC Cincinnati worked with Councilmember Mark Jeffreys to put forth this resolution and advocated alongside Cincinnati's JCRC. Jeffreys noted, "This is about continuing to make a statement that we are a welcoming city that is inclusive and respectful, a city where hate of any kind is not welcome." Our office has already been made aware of this resolutions impact where a young woman leader with Palestinian heritage found this definition helpful in pushing back against defamatory comments when she hears them.
