The Coronavirus pandemic has amplified the need for all of us to be able to confidently navigate online, being able to recognize fake medical news, disinformation and conspiracy theories. Far right, far left and Islamist elements within our societies and beyond as well as foreign state actors are using this moment of distress and confusion, to spread fake news and fake stories charging various groups of having plotted the spread of the deadly disease. AJC Central Europe therefore is partnering with the Civic Resilience Initiative, a Lithuanian NGO specializing in research on state and societal resilience, to offer a series of trainings during which practical methods in recognizing and countering disinformation online will be discussed. Our second session is led by Mr. Lukas Andriukaitis, Associate Director and Digital Forensic Researcher at DFRLab, Atlantic Council.
