Elissa Fishman joined AJC as Chief Financial Officer in 2024. She oversees Finance, Real Estate, Facilities and Security and is an integral member of the executive team driving organizational strategy and working with the Executive Council, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees.
Prior to joining AJC, Elissa was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer at American Friends of the Hebrew University. A member of the executive team, she played a key role in developing and executing organizational strategy, drove financial transformation, served as primary financial liaison with University leadership and worked with major donors and foundations on complex gift planning. Elissa worked closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Audit, Investment and Budget Committees.
Elissa’s previous experience was in the corporate world where she spent 18 years at Time Inc., holding progressive roles across various areas of the business, culminating as Senior Vice President of the Finance, Entertainment, News & Sports Group, where she functioned as CFO of the $1.5B division. She started her career in finance at Sotheby’s.
Elissa holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Economics from Wharton.
