AJC today announced a grant of $34,000 to aid the victims of the ravaging floods in Texas, which have led to deaths and left tens of thousands homeless, hungry, and without electricity.

The AJC contribution, made possible through the organization’s Harriet and Robert Heilbrunn Humanitarian Relief Fund, is being divided among the American Red Cross, which is offering relief assistance to all victims of Hurricane Harvey; IsraAID, the Israeli NGO that has sent trained emergency personnel to the scene to help all who need it; and Jewish Family Service of Houston, which is seeking to provide direct recovery services in the Houston area.

Over the years, AJC has donated frequently to help victims of natural disasters both in the United States and all over the world.
