On Sunday, June 2, nearly 2,500 attendees from over 50 countries gathered in Washington, D.C., for the start of AJC Global Forum 2019. The opening plenary was lively, informative, and meaningful. CNN’s Dana Bash asked Halie Soifer of the Jewish Democratic Council of America and Matthew Brooks of the Republic Jewish Coalition to answer a fundamental question: do American Jews have a political home? Also, Joan Ryan and Ian Austin, two British Members of Parliament who recently resigned from the Labour Party over festering antisemitism within its ranks, shared their stories on a live recording of AJC Passport, AJC’s flagship podcast. You’ll also see video messages from 2020 presidential candidates Joe Biden, Cory Booker, and Pete Buttigieg, the first in a series of video messages coming to AJC Global Forum attendees straight from the campaign trail, and the presentation of AJC’s Jan Karski Award to a truly courageous leader.
