The AJC Global Forum 2022 opening plenary began with greetings by AJC President Harriet P. Schleifer, followed by remarks from New York Governor Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who was introduced by AJC Board of Governors Chair Tony Meyer.

Next, the audience heard directly from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky via video message followed by an incisive speech about the need to support Ukraine by AJC CEO David Harris.

Incoming AJC National President Michael Tichnor introduced the "Antisemitism Up Close" session, which featured Harvard student Natalie Kahn and a panel discussion with Jacob Kornbluh, Senior Political Reporter for The Forward, April Powers, Managing Director DEI Strategy for First Impression Rx, and Andrew Rehfeld, President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. The panel was moderated by Holly Huffnagle, AJC U.S. Director, Combating Antisemitism.

After, Rabbi Noam Marans, AJC Director, Interreligious and Intergroup Relations led a program on "Standing Together Against Hatred." This was followed by a touching tribute to AJC President Harriet P. Schleifer led by John M. Shapiro, AJC Honorary President.
