In cooperation with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AJC is hosting the principal Muslim religious leaders of Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan and Zambia. During their five-day visit this week, they will meet with Israeli civic leaders and with religious leaders from the spectrum of faith communities in Israel.

“AJC has a unique record of building relationships with other faith communities around the world as well as advocating for Israel,” said Rabbi David Rosen, AJC's International Director of interreligious Affairs. “It is particularly important to reach out to the wider Muslim world and I am delighted that we have been able to cooperate with Israel's Foreign Ministry in bringing an impressive group of major African Muslim leaders to gain first-hand knowledge about Israel and the Jewish people."

In August 2010, AJC co-hosted in Israel a delegation of Christian and Muslim leaders from six sub-Saharan African countries, and AJC also has hosted two Indian Muslim leadership groups visiting Israel.
