AJC Long Island has worked with many municipalities in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism. To combat antisemitism, we first must understand what it is. The definition was created by AJC and likeminded institutions in 2016 and has since been adopted by nearly 30 countries, including the U.S. and many municipalities around the country.  The Working Definition describes many forms of antisemitism, including as it relates to Israel. The definition will go a long way in protecting Jews on Long Island for years to come. AJC Long Island thanks the following municipalities for adopting the IHRA Working Definition:

Nassau County
Suffolk County
Town of Oyster Bay
Town of North Hempstead
Town of Hempstead
Town of Babylon
Town of Southampton
Town of Huntington
City of Glen Cove
Village of Great Neck
