Antisemitism is a major issue in Georgia; in 2018, the ADL reported that 30 out of 56 extremist incidents in Georgia included explicit antisemitism as a motivation. In the aftermath of the attacks on synagogues in California and Pittsburgh, Dov Wilker, AJC Regional Director, argued that the attackers “believe we will infect society with our beliefs, which are different from theirs.’’ Immediately following the Pittsburgh attack, AJC Atlanta hosted an interfaith gathering to discuss how to respond--showing the critical role of AJC’s intergroup and interfaith relations.
