The foreign minister of Togo, Professor Robert Dussey, will address the AJC Global Forum 2017, which will take place June 4-6, in Washington, D.C.
The AJC Global Forum is the advocacy organization’s signature annual event, bringing together more than 2,500 participants from across the United States and 70 countries around the world.
AJC has long recognized the importance of Africa, and maintains close partnerships with Togolese diplomats through our Africa Institute, founded in 2006, chaired by Marion Bergman, and directed by Eliseo Neuman.
“Togo’s steadfast partnership with the United States and Israel is deeply appreciated and valued by our organization,” said AJC CEO David Harris. “We are honored and delighted that Minister Dussey, a long-time friend of the Jewish people, will share his perspectives, and his own role, in the increasingly robust engagement between Israel and Africa.”
In October, Togo will host the Africa-Israel Summit. “This summit inaugurates a new era of multilateral partnership between Africa and Israel,” Dussey said after he visited Israel in January. Prime Minister Netanyahu and the heads of 25 African countries are expected to attend the summit, which will focus on high technology, security, and development.
Other world leaders confirmed to address the AJC Global Forum 2017 include the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.
