AJC has named Regina Sassoon Friedland as director of the global advocacy organization’s Seattle regional office.
“I am privileged to head the Seattle office of an organization I have long admired,” said Friedland. “In partnership with lay leaders and members, I look forward to building on relationships in Seattle’s civic, ethnic and faith communities to advance AJC’s mission and advocacy efforts.”
A native of Seattle, Friedland comes to AJC after more than 20 years of successful experience in non-profit fundraising, constituent education, and cultivation. She is a trustee of the Northwest Yeshiva High School, a past trustee of the Seattle Hebrew Academy, and former chair of the development committee for both institutions.
Friedland earned a degree in journalism from the University of Washington’s Department of Communications and a degree from the University of Washington’s Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies with an emphasis on Jewish studies.
“Regina’s energy and passion for enhancing the well-being of Israel and the global Jewish community, and advancing democratic values are inspirational,” said AJC Seattle President Bill Hochberg.
AJC, a non-partisan organization founded in 1906, has headquarters in New York, 22 offices across the U.S, 10 around the world, and 34 international partnerships with overseas Jewish communities and student organizations.
