AJC Los Angeles welcomed the opportunity to host the EU Consuls General November meeting, spearheaded by Bulgarian Consul General Vesselin Valchev, and attended by representatives of 13 European Consulates and several AJC lay leaders.

AJC LA Assistant Director Holly Huffnagle gave the keynote speech on the state of antisemitism in the U.S. and Europe.

The presentation focused on the complexity of antisemitism—where it is coming from and why, and best practices and strategies to more effectively combat it.

The talk explored the history of antisemitism and its many forms—from religious antisemitism, racial antisemitism, socio-economic and political antisemitism, and its current sources: the far-right, the far-left, Islamist ideology, governments and state media, sports, and the Internet and social media.

AJC LA looks forward to continued partnership and collaboration with the consular community to fight against antisemitism and intolerance in all its forms.
