President Biden has sent a congratulatory letter to AJC CEO David Harris, who has served at the helm of the leading global Jewish advocacy organization for 32 years. He will step down later this year.

The letter was read at the AJC Global Forum session  honoring Harris. AJC Global Forum, taking place June 12-14 in New York City, is the signature annual event of the leading global Jewish advocacy organization. It brings together thousands of participants from across the United States and dozens of countries around the world.

The full letter from President Biden to David Harris follows:

Dear David,

Congratulations on your extraordinary 32-year tenure at the helm of the American Jewish Committee.

Throughout your storied career, the name David Harris has been synonymous with AJC. Members of the Jewish community are safer wherever they live, our Nation’s relationship with Israel is strong, and AJC is positioned to address any global challenges facing the Jewish people in the years ahead due, in no small measure, to your leadership.

As you reflect on your career, I hope you take great pride in all your achievements. Your work leaves a blueprint for future generations to follow – embodying the timeless Jewish concept, “l’dor v’dor.”

Mazal tov on your seminal contributions and your lasting legacy. Keep up the good fight.
