Empowered Parents: Advocacy in Education is a four-part virtual Zoom program series. The program strives to demonstrate how AJC’s advocacy makes an impact in education, policy and antisemitism awareness across the country and around the globe.

Topics covered include Muslim-Jewish relations, the university environment, Congress and the Federal government and how local political and civic engagement can have a fundamental effect on the Jewish experience.

This session will explore the remarkable advances, apparent failures, and unrealized potential in the transformation of Muslim Jewish Relations as an essential project of the 21st century. Through engaging narratives and tangible examples from AJC’s work, Dr. Gordon will describe the innovative approaches that preceded the current moment, are guiding responses, and will help pave the way toward a better future.

In this session, Dr. Sara Coodin, AJC’s Director of Academic Affairs discusses the key factors that have contributed to the current campus climate, and breaks down the strategic changes that will be required to shift the climate in meaningful ways.

AJC’s Managing Director of Policy and Political Affairs Julie Rayman will showcase advocacy opportunities and share how AJC is making a significant impact.

Educational Advocacy in Your Community: Why Local Engagement Matters with Melanie Pell, AJC Chief Field Operations Officer

This session will explore the intersection between the educational environments in which our kids learn and the critical importance of engaging with state and local policy makers and elected officials. Melanie Pell, AJC Chief Field Operations Officer will share how AJC nurtures relationships on a local level and advocates for the Jewish experience in communities across the United States.

A gift of $1250 to the AJC 2024 annual campaign is requested for program participation

In addition to being part of the Empowered Parents Advocacy in Education program, 
participants will become members in AJC's Marshall Society.
