In the AJC Global Forum 2024 Opening Plenary, American Jewish Committee (AJC) began by honoring those we lost on and since October 7 — the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust — and we heard from H.E. Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, on the importance of Israeli resilience. Jewish leaders representing countries from Africa, Europe, and North and South America addressed the dangerous rise in antisemitism over the last eight months, and we featured a timely conversation with Michael Rapaport, actor and comedian, and Aviva Klompas, co-founder of Boundless Israel, on how to best advocate for the Jewish state on social media. AJC also launched Heroes of Israel, which highlighted Israeli citizens who have risen to become extraordinary heroes in the wake of Hamas’ October 7 massacre.
