AJC is urging SanAntonio authorities to apprehend and bring to justice those responsible for attacks on the Jewish community. Congregation Agudas Achim, SanAntonio’s second-largest synagogue was defaced with antisemitic graffiti. Congregation Rodfei Sholom and 30 cars and buildings near the synagogue were similarly vandalized.

“These hateful attacks on our community are painful,” said Kim Kamen, Associate Director of AJC Regional Offices. “Jews, indeed all Texans, need to remain vigilant.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott condemned the vandalism, calling it an “offensive and disturbing attack on people of all faiths.”

SanAntonio Mayor Ivy Taylor this week joined with the mayors of Austin, Dallas and Houston, and other mayors across the United States, in signing the Mayors United Against Antisemitism statement, an AJC initiative.
