AJC has named Rabbi David C. Levy as director of the global advocacy organization’s New Jersey regional office.

“I am thrilled to be joining AJC as New Jersey Regional Director, and look forward to working with an amazing team that has a global focus on issues of critical importance to the American Jewish community,” said Levy. He comes to AJC after a career spanning 29 years as a pulpit rabbi and community activist.

“I feel especially privileged to lead AJC’s mission as part of the New Jersey Jewish community, where I have lived and served as a rabbi for 16 years, first at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills and, more recently, at Temple Shalom in Succasunna,” Levy added.

AJC New Jersey leadership warmly welcomed Levy’s appointment.

“We’re fortunate to have found David who both knows the New Jersey Jewish community well and has deep experience with interfaith, legislative, and community outreach,” said Lori Feldstein, President of the Central Region of AJC New Jersey

“We hired a very capable mensch!” said Genesia Perlmutter Kamen, President of the Metro Region of AJC New Jersey. “Not only is he well qualified to lead AJC New Jersey as we increase our advocacy and outreach activities, David is also kind, compassionate and a man of great integrity.”

AJC, a non-partisan organization founded in 1906, has headquarters in New York, 22 offices across the U.S, 10 around the world, and 34 international partnerships with overseas Jewish communities and student organizations.
