On December 20, 2022, AJC Los Angeles hosted our Annual Hanukkah Reception for the LA Consular Corps and our many community partners, with over 100 civic leaders in attendance. This year, we were proud to bill the event as our “Shine a Light”Hanukkah, part of the national #ShineALight campaign in which AJC is partnering with fellow Jewish organizations. 

Last night, AJC Los Angeles held its 41st Annual Judge Learned Hand Award Dinner. Named for one of America’s great jurists and humanitarians, the award is presented to distinguished attorneys whose professional and community activities have had significant impact upon bettering the community.

On November 17, 2022, ACCESS LA hosted an event in partnership with the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) young professionals network. Museum docents at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) guided guests through the permanent exhibition, "Common Ground: The Heart of Community." 

Most U.S. adults know when the Holocaust happened and are familiar with Auschwitz, but fewer are cognizant about the number of Jews murdered and how Hitler came to power in Germany, according to a new American Jewish Committee (AJC) public opinion survey. “Lacking knowledge can open pathways to trivialization and denial of the Holocaust that also contribute to rising antisemitism,” said AJC CEO Ted Deutch.
