Despite the daily challenges, the Cincinnati Jewish community has been resolute. Community members have volunteered on Israeli farms. Cincinnati Hillel has supported more Jewish students than ever before. We are also heartened by the support we’ve received from allies and those who recognize the existential plague of hatred and antisemitism. We maintain hope in fighting anti-Jewish bias and in building bridges across political and ideological lines - and using the spirit of Cincinnati as a constructive mechanism for peace and understanding.

On October 7, 2024, American Jewish Committee (AJC) hosted a National October 7 Memorial Commemoration for diplomats to honor the memories of all the victims of the October 7 Hamas attack and reaffirm our commitment to bring home each of the remaining 101 hostages still in captivity. American Jewish Committee (AJC), the global advocacy organization for the Jewish people, today brought together diplomats from more than 45 countries for memorial events recognizing the one-year anniversary of the October 7 terror attack, during which Hamas terrorists massacred 1,200 Israelis and took 251 people from Israel and 25 other countries hostage. U.S. and Israeli officials that addressed the events included Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff; U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield; U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt; and Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Herzog.
