Lt. Col. (res.) Avital Leibovich, Director of American Jewish Committee (AJC) Jerusalem, was honored by Albania President Ilir Meta with the Gjergj Kastrioti Scanderbeg Order knighthood, the Muslim nation’s second-highest national award. Leibovich is the first Israeli and first woman from the Middle East to receive the prestigious Albanian award. It is given to individuals who have contributed to Albania’s security, development, and prosperity.
