AJC, the global Jewish advocacy organization, and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the World Council of Religions, are hosting a delegation of influential Eastern religious leaders.
Jewish student leaders at the University of North Texas recently planned a walk on campus to amplify the plight of the 133 Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Hindu hostages — including six Americans — still being held captive by Hamas terrorists. While there, I didn’t see any signs for Israel Week programming (of which the walk was the kickoff event). I was told they had been snatched almost as soon as they had been placed.
On Thursday, May 2nd, students from local universities and community members gathered on the campus of The George Washington University (GWU) in downtown DC to show Jewish students they have the support of their peers, allies, friends, and families and that they are not alone in the face of harassment from the loudest voices on campus.
The 2024 Legislative Sessions in Maryland and Virginia have drawn to a close, marking significant legislative wins for our community. AJC is proud to highlight some of the pivotal legislation for which we advocated.
