AJC, the global Jewish advocacy organization, praises President Trump for declaring today that the United States recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

President Trump’s declaration Wednesday that the United States formally recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city is an acknowledgement of historical fact and current reality.

AJC Central Europe, together with the University of Warsaw’s Center for Research on Prejudice, cosponsored a seminar on “Antisemitism in Poland: Diagnosis, Consequences, and Methods of Prevention.”

There are many reasons for caution in dealing with the status of Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, to which the Palestinians also lay claims. However, there are also reasons that the U.S. government took a logical step stating the obvious, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

AJC welcomed the announcement by Rutgers University that an openly antisemitic professor, Michael Chinkidas, will be disciplined by the school.
