American Jewish Committee (AJC) CEO Ted Deutch today met with Israel President Isaac Herzog, after Herzog told the European Parliament that Israel’s right to exist is not subject to debate. Deutch was in Brussels with an AJC delegation to meet with members of the European Parliament and Herzog, who spoke to the parliament, one of the legislative bodies of the European Union, on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Yesterday morning, AJC Los Angeles attended the LA County Board of Supervisors meeting in support of a motion put forward by newly elected Supervisor Lindsey Horvath.

This motion recommended that new LA County Sheriff Robert Luna report back to the Board in writing with data on the antisemitic incidents that have occurred over the last five years, including any trends or data available regarding the incidents.

Last night, AJC LA's ACCESS hosted it's very first in-person Annual Meeting, with Debbie Lechtman, otherwise known as @Rootsmetals on Instagram, as their guest speaker.  This event, “Fighting Antisemitism Online in 2022”, focused on how to better understand how to combat the worlds oldest form of hatred on the worlds newest and, and at times most dangerous, form of communication - social media.
