In the wake of the unprecedented tragedy of the Holocaust, it was anything but obvious that a Jewish group would seek to engage postwar Germany. But that’s exactly what American Jewish Committee (AJC), alone among global Jewish organizations, did.
Europe’s rich Jewish history is also an ongoing obligation to assure the trust of Jewish citizens and communities, a responsibility society as a whole must uphold. Therefore, the American Jewish Committee New York Regional Office and the Consulate General of Germany collaborate to build trust in one another and jointly advocate against hate and antisemitism.

Efforts in the first 100 days of the Biden administration to fight antisemitism would show the world that the US places a high priority on promoting pluralism, protecting minorities, and safeguarding democracy. That keeps all Americans safe.
