An AJC delegation just concluded a two-day trip to Poland, highlighted by hour-long meetings with both President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The delegation, led by AJC CEO David Harris, met with Chancellor Sebastian Kurz; Chairs of the parliamentary groups for the liberal NEOS, center-right ÖVP, and center-left SPÖ; Israeli Ambassador Talya Lador-Fresher; and Chargés d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy Eugene Young.
AJC is urging the foreign ministers of European Union member states to publicly denounce Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s inflammatory statements about Israel when the EU Foreign Affairs Council meets with him on Monday, and to insist that he retract them.
More than 70 leaders from Jewish communities in Latin America, Spain and Portugal, joined by AJC leaders and Latino Jews living in the United States, gathered in Colombia, from November 30 to December 3, for the annual strategic forum of AJC’s Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs (BILLA).
