Jewish Community Partnerships
Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our Jewish brothers and sisters
AJC’s Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs (BILLA) maintains longstanding partnerships with the Jewish communities of Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. One of our main goals continues to be protecting the physical security of local Jewish communities from domestic and global terrorism and antisemitism.
These partnerships include joint work in engaging governmental leaders through diplomatic meetings and AJC missions to the region aimed at strengthening BILLA’s goals. A highlight of our work is our Annual Strategic Forum for Latin American Jewish leaders, who are convened to discuss issues of concern for the region and their impact on the Jewish people.
To that end, we maintain formal, signed agreements with the following Jewish communities:
- ARGENTINA: Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA)
- BRAZIL: Federation of Jewish Communities of Brazil (CONIB)
- CHILE: Comunidad Judía de Chile (CJCH)
- COLOMBIA: Confederación de Comunidades Judías de Colombia (CCJC)
- COSTA RICA: Centro Israelita Sionista (CIS)
- ECUADOR: Comunidad Judía del Ecuador
- EL SALVADOR: Comunidad Israelita de El Salvador
- GUATEMALA: Comunidad Judía de Guatemala
- MÉXICO: Tribuna Israelita
- PANAMÁ: Consejo Ejecutivo de la Comunidad Judía de Panamá
- PERÚ: Asociación Judía del Perú
- PORTUGAL: Comunidade Israelita de Lisboa (CIL)
- SPAIN: Federación de Comunidades Israelitas de España (FCJE)
- VENEZUELA: Confederación de Asociaciones Israelitas de Venezuela (CAIV)
